Barış Manço House Museum
In a quiet Moda back street stands the mansion where Barış Manço — one of the most beloved figures in Turkish music — lived and worked. Opened as a museum in 2010, it keeps his piano, his famously flamboyant costumes and his artwork exactly where this gentle giant of Anadolu rock created so much of his magic.

The home of a Turkish icon
Barış Manço (1943–1999) was a singer, composer and TV presenter who fused Anatolian folk with rock and became a household name across Turkey and beyond. He lived in this Moda mansion, where he wrote and recorded much of his most loved work.
After his death, Kadıköy Municipality restored the house and opened it to the public on 9 June 2010. Stepping inside feels less like a museum and more like visiting the home of an old friend who never quite left.
What's inside
The rooms display Manço's personal belongings — his piano, his wildly colourful stage costumes from across his career, and original pieces of his own art. Together they trace the life of a performer who was as much showman as musician.
In the garden you're greeted by his sculptures, his car, and oversized models of tomatoes, peppers and aubergines inspired by his playful lyrics. The museum opens Tuesday to Sunday, 09:00–16:00, with tickets sold online.

How to get to the Barış Manço House
From Europe, take the ferry from Eminönü or Karaköy to Kadıköy, then it's about a 15-minute walk into Moda or a short taxi to Yusuf Kamil Paşa Sokak. You can also ride the Marmaray from Sirkeci to Ayrılık Çeşmesi and connect by metro or taxi. A direct taxi from Sultanahmet is roughly 450–600 TL in daytime traffic — buy your timed museum ticket online first, since it's closed Mondays. Ask us and we'll arrange the transfer to the door.
