How to Get from Kadıköy to Istanbul Airport (IST)

IST is on the far European side — 55 to 65 km from Kadıköy depending on the bridge. Here is every option with honest prices and times, and what we'd actually recommend for your situation.

Option 1: Private transfer — our usual recommendation

A pre-booked transfer costs roughly the same as a metered taxi stuck in bridge traffic, but the price is agreed before you ride and the driver tracks your flight. For 06:00 flights — when you need a car at 03:00 — this is the only option we'd rely on.

How it works with us: send your date, time and pickup address on WhatsApp. We confirm a fixed price and the driver's plate number. You pay the driver directly — no prepayment.

Option 2: Metered taxi

Any yellow taxi will take the trip; expect 1.400–1.800 TL on the day meter (06:00–24:00) including the bridge toll — and roughly 50% more on the night tariff between 00:00 and 06:00, which is exactly when most early IST flights need a car. Use a taxi rank (durak) or BiTaksi rather than hailing near the pier. Confirm the meter is running — the fare to IST is never a "flat 100 euro".

Option 3: Havaist airport bus

The Havaist HVIST-16 line leaves from the Kadıköy waterfront roughly every 30–60 minutes and costs about 250 TL. It's comfortable and direct, but plan 90–120 minutes plus waiting time — and seats fill up at peak hours.

Option 4: Marmaray + M11 metro

The cheapest route: Marmaray from Ayrılık Çeşmesi under the Bosphorus to Gayrettepe, then the M11 metro straight to the airport. Around 60 TL with an Istanbulkart, but allow at least 100 minutes and expect stairs and transfers with luggage.

Which should you choose?

  • Early-morning flight or 2+ suitcases: pre-booked transfer, no question.
  • Midday flight, flexible: metered taxi or Havaist both work.
  • Backpacking on a budget: Marmaray + M11 — leave 3 hours before boarding.

Send your flight time — we'll reply with a fixed price and pickup plan, usually within minutes.
